The Timber Stone by Dave Abare

Boy meets girl; girl is out of boys league...ha, ha, ha...Anyway, trying not to be cheesy. I'm digging the main characters funny insight or thought pattern, let alone his inability at times to function with complete thoughts that weren't moments of: mouth open, insert shoe. I feel like the paragraphs are not structured correctly (page break) once they come to completion and maybe it's me, but I did see different fonts and grammatical issues within the writing at times. However, this story has a lot of the “You” vibe going from the series on Netflix. Just FYI, the man is not a psycho, or is he? I won't divulge. He is a man who makes a crucial mistake five years ago with an ex- and has been trying to deal with it, but seems to miss the mark. Now a new neighbor moves in and life starts moving fast. The main character's name is Josh, who to my enjoyment has a special relationship when talking to his dog

Pickle. The character is very likable. Josh has some funny stories from the past mishaps, like when he got his first kiss. It is these kind of stories that allow the novel to move in an enjoyable, but unpredictable manner. Author still had prior editing marks in the story, so I'd determine the copy I'm reading is not the fully edited version. I wish to express that I liked the evolving relationship between Lauren and Josh. The author's voice and expression is very relatable. Again, needs some editing (otherwise I would give it 5 stars), but overall does not detract from the story. I could easily see a piece like this being made into a movie.
