The book begins by explaining to the reader the factual elements which assist in substance

abuse like genetics, socioeconomic class, environment and trauma. The book then engages in giving options for finding a solution to addiction and how to identify if someone has an addiction. The book looks at programs designed to assist addiction. The read is pretty easy to follow and a list of key terms which apply to the issue of addiction. It talks about self-forgiveness, ownership and suggestions to help with possible relapse. It talks about dealing with triggers which become an all too common aspect to people who fight against addiction. There is a plan the book has to deal with such things. I am not someone who deals with major addiction in anything, but I would say I have minor ones like coffee, snacking, etc. It really is no different, just on a smaller scale. I could identify quickly some of the things the book covers and found its information enlightening. Regardless of the type of addiction, if you want a tool to help you identify and help you stop some of those things you should definitely read this piece of literature.
