The Cold Plunge Cryotherapy Book: Diving Into the Healing Powers of Cold Water Exposure Therapy

I was familiar with the use of cold therapy based on my athletic lifestyle in the past. Used it to reduce mostly inflammation and chronic pain associated with the weight lifting, running, and sports related fatigue. I didn't really need information on that, but the mental health and reduction of stress was interesting to read about. Norepinephrine which is responsible for focus, att

ention, and mood struck me. I had always wondered why I enjoyed being out in colder weather to think or even lose weight for that matter. According to the book and I quote, "Exposure to cold also helps reduce inflammation, boost the immune system, give you more stamina and mental clarity, and make it easier to shed pounds (fat

burn)." This is just a few tidbits I learned. Other aspects the book talks about is better skin, acne reduction, slowing aging process, metabolism, reduction of cellulite, and more. The book read fast and made some good points and suggestions on how to properly use cryotherapy at home. It's worth a read. I would have liked some diagrams or visual examples showing maybe results on some of the information used, but still it was worth the read.
