Shadow Ghouls of Nergus by Benjamin Jones

Writer's picture: josh banksjosh banks

The author has definitely created a fantasy world which doesn't play to the usual archetypes one reads from most fantasy authors. The main character Ben, who is a wolf boy/shaman is endowed with Godly abilities joined by characters who are out of the norm. The names are definitely from a creative mind: Gemlik, Kushim, Adit, Gazpariel, and many more show the author has spent time formulating and cultivating a new wave of unknown characters to the reader. The novel reads easy as the chapters are short, making it nice for the reader to read in small or large chunks at a time. You can tell it is an authentic piece of creativity as personal pictures spread throughout the novel I assume the author drew. I haven't read the first three novels by this author, but I completely appreciated the author throwing a summary of the previous novel. If you are looking for a new twist on an undiscovered fantasy world with an author who built it from the ground up, take a chance on this piece.
