My initial thought beginning this would be this whole big spiritual push on family, however much can be taken away from understanding teens/parent dynamics. Explaining the general roles of parents like competence and achievement which pull from a father and emotional impact mothers bring is important to note. I always felt I had to play the role of both parents raising my daughters in a divorced setting. I honestly am not good at always being capable of emotional support versus teaching structure and preparing them for dealing with life on a disciplining level. Environmental stressors have played a strong role in how they were being raised and "truth" as the author says is harder practiced than just saying. Dangers of social media? Oh yes, this is a true testament to dealing with teens and parent relationships for both parties. Of course they were coming into vogue when I was in the prime of raising my kids and wished I knew more then than I do now. The book covers these aspects well and all parents should heed it. Helping your kids choose beneficial entertainment options in gaming, computer searches, websites, television is another strong point made in the book. I feel this book connects with the modern day parent/teen relationship and would help the family dynamic a ton if used properly by the parent. Definitely a suggested piece to read. It has good solutions and shows tons of issues which could occur during the family dynamic development stages.
