First off, I was an athlete in high school and college. I still lift weights and stay somewhat fit. I don't run anymore, but I walk (or do the elliptical once in a while). Now, with that I can connect to this author who seems to describe the same kind of eating habits I had grown to adapt over the years. I'm now 49 years old and I have progressively increased the waist-line. The author is unbelievably genuine and hits on all the major issues anyone who fights through to lose weight in an effort to learn about healthy foods and how other foods impact your body. He covers calorie counting, types of food to focus on: eating out, fasting, air fryer, food preparation, excuses, alcohol, exercising, weighing in, metabolic rate, tried and failed

diets, and money. I love the thought sharing section and stories shared with others who deal with our continual struggle. It is very relatable. I myself bounce between Atkins and Keto. I never truly knew the balance of carbs, protein, fat. Wow! I probably consumed 80 to 85% carbs in my daily diet without knowing the damage I was inflicting for sugar and stored fat. Understanding that alone help me lose lots of pounds. Would recommend this to anyone who wants to feel a kindred spirit who is not alone in the daily fight. He nails the needed basics which I have come to learn and remember, it's a lifestyle change, not a diet.
