Right off the bat I just want to say, I'm almost 50 yrs old and have had blood pressure issues now for the last six or so years. It is frustrating to say the least and trying to get a hold on it is tough.

One month I'm great then the next I'm sky high. It's so upsetting to not be able to get a consistency even using pills (which I take two). The book is very enlightening. Lots of cool features. Jumping straight to the back the author has templates you can use to assist in your tracking like stress journal, action plans, health journal, personal health plan being used as personal health tracker. It has exercises for empowerment, which is absolutely exciting because it gives you methods to help your own situation without dealing with the constant worry of doctor bills and tests. The author provides links for the reader to further their own research in quality, doctor referral health sites. Understanding your medications and when it is recommended to take it was another aspect I hadn't considered. Doc said I need meds, boom taking them. However, I never thought to actually question them, what they specifically do and if I'm absolutely taking them in the prescribed way. Makes a huge difference. Obviously diet is huge, but understanding why is even larger. I'm still learning and find myself constantly typing in Google to find out carbs, sodium, calories, etc. The advice on diet and explanation of specific areas with exact foods is great. Stretching/relieving stress are two other areas I am exploring now. I usually am a gym hawk when I don't strain myself from thinking I'm still in my 20's, but those two things allude me in my quest to get healthy. I feel like I'm always at stage 2 hypertension and the basic suggestions to helping myself beside medication are simple, but I have to prioritize my choices in the day given time. Things like reducing salt, taking a leisurely walk, weight, and relaxation exercises need to be something I need to commit to. There is so much more to this book. I would give a big thumbs up to anyone who wants to take control of their health. It starts at home with small changes which apparently will lead to big changes down the road.
